Cutting Board Care Instructions
Follow these simple steps to keep your handcrafted board looking great and lasting for years.
Daily Cleaning
After each use, wash your cutting board with warm water and mild dish soap. Dry immediately with a clean towel.
Monthly Maintenance
- Wash with hot water and a sponge
- Stand the board on its edge and allow it to dry for 3–5 hours
- Apply approximately one ounce of food-safe mineral oil using a clean cloth
- Coat both sides and all edges evenly
- Wipe off any excess oil
Important Care Guidelines
- Do not put in the dishwasher — heat and water will warp and damage the wood
- Do not soak in water — prolonged moisture can cause cracking or warping
- Do not place near heat sources — wood can dry out and deform
- Do not use olive or vegetable oil — these oils turn rancid over time
- Do not put in microwave or oven — may damage board and is unsafe due to hardware
- Do not place hot cookware — avoid pans, pots, or utensils directly from heat
- Avoid sticking knives into the board — this can damage the surface
Placing cooked food like steaks on the board is perfectly fine.
